Pope’s departure for Tacloban scheduled earlier Saturday
MANILA, Philippines—The scheduled trip of Pope Francis to Tacloban City that is threatened by a tropical storm has been scheduled nearly an hour earlier, radio reports said Saturday.
The original departure was around 8 a.m. but reports said the Pope’s plane will leave Villamor Air Base at 7:15 a.m.
As of midnight, the center of Tropical Storm “Amang” was estimated based on all available data at 295 km East of Borongan City in Eastern Samar.
Pope is scheduled to say Mass at 10 a.m. in Tacloban airport.
Reports said hundreds of thousands of devotees have gathered around the vicinity and have been waiting for his arrival since Friday night.
