Deal inked for Mandaue school building renovation
An agreement was signed for the refurbishment of a three-classroom school building for Leonard Wood Elementary School in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.
The Visayan Electric Co. (Veco), together with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), signed the agreement with the Department of Education and Curva Construction last May 10 at the office of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.
The project, targeted to be finished within the second quarter of 2011, is in line with the company’s Adopt-a-School program.
School principal Joverlie Canoy said the school building needs to be refurbished because of its dilapidated classrooms.
Under the agreement, Veco will provide 70 percent of the project’s estimated cost, which is P1.1 million, and the remaining 30 percent will be shouldered by the city government.
AFI will manage the project construction.
