Pagasa may raise storm signals due to ‘Amang’
MANILA, Philippines—Storm signals may be raised in Catanduanes, Northern Samar, and Camarines Norte late Thursday due to Tropical Storm Amang (Mekkhala), the state weather bureau said.
Amang was last observed 765 kilometers east of Guiuan in Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 5 p.m. bulletin.
It maintained its strength of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph.
“The regions of Caraga and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains while the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains,” Pagasa said.
Thunderstorms are likely to occur over these areas.

“Cagayan valley will be cloudy with light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated light rains,” Pagasa said.
