Trillanes has a ‘fetish’ for Binay—Tiangco
MANILA, Philippines—Senator Antonio Trillanes IV seems to have developed a “fetish” for Jejomar Binay, a spokesperson for the embattled vice president said on Wednesday.
Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco said Trillanes’ continued attacks on Binay reflect the senator’s desire to become president in 2016.
“Trillanes’ motive to malign Binay has been unmasked. The pattern is clear, and his political motives are too glaring for the people not to see,” Tiangco said in Filipino.
“Because of his political ambition, he continues to destroy the vice president’s image to the public who benefitted from his projects,” he added.
Tiangco accused Trillanes of having a knack of weaving “fabricated” stories against the vice president.
“It’s clear as day that Senator Trillanes is one of the main sources of made-up stories. The public has seen Trillanes’ true color and they know that the allegations against Binay are fabricated,” he said.

Trillanes recently said Binay has favored some developers for mass housing projects in his capacity as the current chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
The senator said that through forging partnerships with these developers, Binay allegedly pocketed earnings from these projects.
He added that this alleged anomaly will be a subject in the next Senate blue ribbon subcommittee probe which will resume on January 22.
