THE Super Idols crushed former league-leader Los Demonyos, 77-59 last Saturday to snare the lead in the 7th IBP-2011 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
The win tied Super Idols with their victims and Pecandela with 5-2 cards but based on the winner-over-the-other rule, Super Idols is now on top.
Ramsey Quijano led Super Idols with 19 points while Reiner Apolinario and Benjo Macion added 17 and 14 points, respectively. Richard Bauzon and Lito Ortiz paced Los Demonyos with 15 and 14, respectively.
Earlier, Pecandela drubbed Primos Inter Pares led by Mayor Michael Rama, 68-56 with Sam Malazarte scoring 16 points. Mayor Rama paced Primos Inter Pares with a 21 markers.
In the 3rd game, Bhutakalz routed Jodin (2-5), 76-55, for its 3rd win in seven games with Van Ligutan and Cris Ang scoring 20 and 13 points, respectively.
In the mainer, Pañeros demolished Los Eagles, 65-51 for its 4th win in seven outings for a 4-3 card. Jarred Cabilte led Pañeros with 12 points while Jun Arabis paced Los Eagles with 14 markers. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
