MANILA, Philippines–The low-pressure area being monitored by the weather bureau has entered the Philippine area of responsibility, Panahon TV said midday Friday.
As of 10 a.m., the LPA was spotted 860 kilometers east of Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur.
It is expected to bring rains over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao within 24 hours or less, Panahon TV said.
The state weather bureau is not discounting the possibility that it could intensify into a cyclone.
