MANILA, Philippines—Delayed and canceled flights of an airline company irked passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Christmas Eve.
Numerous passengers of Cebu Pacific at the NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City were complaining that the airline company did not inform them ahead of the delayed and canceled flights, leaving most of the travelers clueless.
Sam Audrey Pajarillo, a passenger of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J404 bound for Laoag City, said he was supposed to leave NAIA-3 at 7:00 p.m. but his flight was delayed and rescheduled for 9 p.m.
Pajarillo said they were not informed of the delay until one of his companions personally inquired with Cebu Pacific.
“There is no proper communication. We are left clueless here. It’s like a market here. People are in disarray,” he said citing no personnel from Cebu Pacific came forward to inform the passengers.
He said the flight schedule monitor installed at the airport, which is supposed to inform passengers, was not functioning.
After inquiring with some airline personnel, Pajarillo said Cebu Pacific told them that “your flight is definitely canceled due to aircraft situation.”
As of posting time, Pajarillo said passengers of the delayed aircraft continue to crowd NAIA-3, most of them are now venting their frustrations at Cebu Pacific.
