La Mesa dam placed on red alert

MANILA, Philippines – The La Mesa dam has been placed on red alert due to the continuous rains spawned by Typhoon “Pedring”, an official said.

Quoting Engineer Teddy Angeles, the report said the water level in the dam was now at 79.61 meters. Its spilling level is 80.15 meters, the report said.

Once water from the dam is released, areas that will be affected will be Quezon City, Valenzuela and Malabon, he said.
