MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau issued a yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila and nearby provinces for the third time on Wednesday.

Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Bulacan, and Bataan were under yellow rainfall alert as of noon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Flooding is expected in low-lying areas.

Pagasa earlier issued the yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila and nearby areas at 5:45 a.m. and 9 a.m.

The heavy rains are caused by a diffused tail-end of a cold front.

A yellow rainfall alert means 7.5-15 mm amount of rain in an hour which is expected to go on in the next two hours.

Light to moderate rains are also affecting Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Zambales, which may persist for three hours, Pagasa said.
