MRT 3 to stop operations by 12 noon—official

/ 10:40 AM September 27, 2011

MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit 3 will stop operations by 12 noon Tuesday due to safety considerations in the wake of the strong winds and heavy rains brought by Typhoon “Pedring”, a spokesman said.

Lawyer Hernando Cabrera said they were suspending operations for “safety considerations and because of the power fluctuations.”

“The last [MRT] train from Taft station will leave 12 noon,” Cabrera said.

The Light Rail Transit suspended its operations earlier in the day.
