MANILA, Philippines–The airport policeman caught on video smashing the window of a taxi cab when its driver refused to surrender his license after committing a traffic violation is now being investigated by the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The MIAA identified the policeman as APO2 Alejandro Pineda Jr. of the Terminal 3 Police Division. The PNP, meanwhile, clarified that Pineda was an industrial guard employed by the MIAA and not a member of the PNP.

A video uploaded on the web showed Pineda breaking the window of an MGE taxi cab at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 last Friday.

This was after cabbie Boots Ymata refused to give his driver’s license, arguing that he was not the only one who picked up passengers in the area.–Maricar B. Brizuela
