PDEA seizes P1M shabu in Camarines Norte
MANILA, Philippines — Government agents have arrested two women and seized almost P1-million worth of suspected illegal drugs in a buy-buy operation in Camarines Norte, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Wednesday.
Bus conductor Melody Calubang, 30, and Nalin Tarusan, 29, were arrested Friday for selling shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride, with an estimated street value of P990,000.
Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr., PDEA director general, said the operation in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo, Vinzons town, yielded a plastic bag containing shabu weighing some 150 grams
Also seized from Calubang and Tarusan were a mobile phone, two motorcycles and a marked P500 bill that was placed on top of three bundles of boodle or fake money.
Both women were detained at the PDEA regional office.
The agency filed charges against the suspects for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
