MANILA, Philippines—The Quezon City government is showing its support for “Pinoy Pride” by approving a tax cut for Filipino artists and productions.

Mayor Herbert Bautista recently signed into law an ordinance that reduced by 3 percent the amusement tax levied on live performances.

From 8 percent, the city government would collect just 5 percent of the gross revenues from admission fees for concerts, plays, fashion shows and other live shows held in Quezon City.

Ordinance No. 2348 authored by Councilor Eufemio Lagumbay amended item II, Section 39, Article 15 of the city revenue code which touched on amusement taxes.
