MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court announced on Tuesday the reopening of courts in the National Capital Region after work was suspended Monday due to bad weather brought by Typhoon Ruby.
“In view of [the] lowering by Pagasa of the rainfall alert for Metro Manila to yellow, work resumes for all NCJR (National Capital Judicial Region) courts for Dec. 9,” the SC announced on Twitter.
The Supreme Court suspended work in courts Monday after the weather bureau raised storm Signal No. 2 over Metro Manila and Malacañang told non-essential government personnel to stay home.
For the Southern Tagalog Region, the High Court left the decision to lift the work suspension to the respective executive judges.
Executive judges “may suspend (work) if (their) areas are flooded and will be dangerous to the staff,” said the high tribunal.
