MRT, LRT schedule cut short on Monday due to ‘Ruby’

MANILA, Philippines–Operations of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) will be shortened on Monday due to inclement weather brought by Typhoon “Ruby” (international name: Hagupit).

The last trips of LRT 1, LRT 2 and MRT 3 will be two hours earlier than the usual schedule, LRTA spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said on Twitter.

The last train from the end stations of LRT 1 in Baclaran and Roosevelt stations will leave at 8 p.m.
In LRT 2, the last train from Santolan station will leave at 7:30 p.m., while the train from Recto station, 8 p.m.

As for MRT 3, the last train from North Avenue station will leave at 7 p.m. and from Taft Avenue, 7:45 p.m.

During normal operations on weekdays, the last trips of train systems in Metro Manila are usually until 10 p.m.‎

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, Ruby is expected to bring heavy rains and floods to Metro Manila between 8 to 10 p.m.
