‘Orange’ rainfall warning up over Metro, Calabarzon areas

rainfall warning systemMANILA, Philippines — An orange rainfall warning was issued in Metro Manila and Calabarzon on Monday noon due to Tropical Storm Ruby (international name: Hagupit).

“Flooding is threatening low-lying areas and possible landslides in mountainous areas,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) said in a rainfall advisory it issued at 12 noon.

Orange rainfall means intense rains or 15-30 mm rain observed in an hour and expected to continue in the next two hours.

Residents must be alerted for possible evacuation.
