NDRRMC: 1 million people affected by Typhoon ‘Ruby’
MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said on Monday that Typhoon “Ruby” (international name Hagupit) has affected over 1 million people.
As of 6 a.m., there were a total of 230,569 families or 1,0666,141 people in shelters.
The NDRRMC has only confirmed two deaths — both were killed from hypothermia in Iloilo.
A total of 2,663 passengers, 94 vessels and 644 rolling cargoes and 3 motorbancas are still stranded due to bad weather.
Almost 200 international and domestic flights were cancelled on Monday due to bad weather.
