Ruby makes second landfall in Masbate

MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon Ruby (international codename: Hagupit) made its second landfall in Cataingan town, in the island province of Masbate, the state weather bureau said Sunday in its 11 a.m. bulletin.

Ruby had maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 170 kph near the center as it hit Masbate province, the Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical Services Administration said.

Pagasa expected that Ruby will make third landfall on Sibuyan Island at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday as the slow-moving typhoon moves west northwest at 15 kph.
