MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon Ruby (international codename: Hagupit) made its second landfall in Cataingan town, in the island province of Masbate, the state weather bureau said Sunday in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
Ruby had maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 170 kph near the center as it hit Masbate province, the Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical Services Administration said.
Pagasa expected that Ruby will make third landfall on Sibuyan Island at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday as the slow-moving typhoon moves west northwest at 15 kph.
Projected location
For the next three days, Ruby is forecast to be in the following areas:
- In 24 hours (Monday morning): 20 km southwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro or at 150 km South of Science Garden, Quezon City.
- In 48 hours (Tuesday morning): 260 km west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro or at 260 km west southwest of Science Garden, Quezon City.
- In 72 hours (Wednesday morning): 520 km west southwest of Iba, Zambales.
Typhoon Ruby is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning.
