Commissioned officers are those with ranks higher than Police Inspector while noncommissioned officers are officers with ranks from Senior Police Officer 4 below.

In a statement, suspended PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima said he urges the officers to make their promotion their inspiration to do better in their service for the community.

(I expect that you will use your promotion to do better in safeguarding our communities and improve your skills, abilities, and dedication to respond to the needs of our countrymen and of the national police.)

The Ombudsman on Thursday issued a six-month preventive suspension on Purisima pending the investigation on his allegedly anomalous contract with courier service Werfast Documentation Agency worth P100‎ million.
