Compostela school rises 2 years after ‘Pablo’ ruin
MANILA, Philippines—A school in Compostella Valley heavily devastated by Typhoon “Pablo” in 2012 was rehabilitated and formally inagurated early this week.
The new Mangayon Elementary School was inaugurated on December 1 in Compostella Valley two years after Pablo flattened communities in the province.
The school, which had lain in ruins, now has better classrooms for a conducive learning experience. It was rehabilitated through the help of Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines.
Compostela Valley was among the areas in Mindanao worst hit by Pablo in December 2012, which left more than 1,000 people dead.
