BGC building fire sends 13 to hospital

At least 13 people were hospitalized for injuries and breathing difficulties after a fire broke out Thursday inside a 31-story building under construction at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City. The fire started around 9:50 a.m. in a temporary storage room on Basement 3 of One World Place on 32nd Avenue, said Chief Insp. Junito Maslang of the Taguig City Fire Department. The injured persons were all construction workers who sustained bruises and suffered respiratory problems as they escaped. More than 500 people then working in different sections of the building were evacuated as smoke filled the interior. The cause of the fire, which was declared out at 1:10 p.m., remained under investigation. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
