MANILA, Philippines – Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino vowed to identify the man in a sports car who allegedly assaulted a traffic constable on a busy Quezon City intersection on Thursday morning.

“We are trying to trace the ownership of the sports car without plate number and the name of the aggressive driver whose actuations should merit appropriate penalty and condemnation,” said Tolentino in a statement posted on the MMDA’s official Facebook page.

Jorby Adriatico was mauled by a motorist riding a plateless Maserati Marshall after he attempted to capture on camera the driver violating traffic rules on the intersection of G. Araneta and Quezon avenues in Quezon City on Thursday morning.

The still unidentified driver allegedly grabbed Adriatico by the neck and punched him as he drove at 40 kilometers-per-hour, dragging the constable from the intersection up to Scout Chuatoco.

After releasing the enforcer, the driver in his 30s sped off to unknown direction. Adriatico suffered a fractured nose.

Later in the day, Adriatico ‎sought assistance of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) in identifying the owner of the sports car.
