MAN CLIMBS CELL TOWER

A MAN who climbed atop a cell site tower was rescued by the police afer a three-hour operation in barangay Coro, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

No security guard was around when Emmanuel Amancio, 29, climbed the  100-meter high tower.

Police said the man was depressed after his relationship with another man turned sour.

Town mayor Allan Sesante went to the area to help in the negotiation.

When negotiation efforts failed,  members of the Dalaguete police and a bomb squad went up after him.

At the top of the tower, PO3 Jesus Bontilao talked to the man, asked him to calm down before grabbing hold of him.

DEALER FOUND HANGING DEAD

A BEAUTY product dealer was found dead in his rented room in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City on Saturday evening.

Marvin Jerome David  was found hanging from a beam with a rope tied around his neck.

Police said it was the victim’s boardmates, Lorenda Mondal, 36, and Christine Yatong, 23, who discovered the body.

Mondal told police that she and Yatong rushed to the victim’s room after she saw  blood dripping from the second floor of the house.

DANe’S APARTMENT RANSACKED

THE rented apartment of a Danish national was burglarized  in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City.

Assorted valuables worth at least P100,000 were taken from the apartment of 51-year-old Nicola Jacobsen Arne.

She reported the break-in to  police past 4 p.m. after discovering the loss.

Police said the robbers entered the apartment by destroying the door knob of the main door.

Thieves took a laptop worth P85,000, a wristwatch,  and several pieces of silver jewelry.

MAN STABBED, ROBBED IN LAPU

A 29-YEAR-OLD welder heading home was stabbed and wounded on the road by a group of young holduppers in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City at dawn yesterday.

Ramil Ryan Traya was wounded in the abdomen and lost his cellular phone during the incident. Traya was heading home when he was attacked, said police.
