MANILA, Philippines—The Nacionalista Party (NP) being headed by former Senator Manny Villar will have to “watch” and  “wait” first before  deciding on its plan in 2016, a party member said on Thursday.

“Ang Nacionalista Party, ‘yung last naming pinag-usapan ay  ang decision ng partido is that huwag munang mag decision dahil nga masyado pang maaga at hindi maliwanag kung sino ang tatakbo, kung ano ba ang magyayari, kung ano ba ang magiging coalition,” Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said over DWIZ.

(Our last discussion in the Nacionalista Party is our decision not to make any decision yet because it’s still too early and it’s not yet clear who will run, what will happen and what coalitions will happen.)

“So watch and wait muna ang Nacionalista Party sa ngayon,”  he said.

(So the Nacionalista Party is watching and waiting for now.)

Marcos was among those mentioned as possible contenders for the 2016 presidential race but said that his eyes, at this point, are still set on reelection.

Another member of the NP, Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, has openly expressed his desire to run for president.
