4.7 quake hits off Ilocos Norte
MANILA, Philippines―A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck off Ilocos Norte at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said it measured 3.4 on the Richter scale.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the moderate quake that occurred 136 kilometers northwest of Calayan in Cagayan province at a depth of 34 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
