DLSU student falls to death from hotel’s 25th floor
MANILA, Philippines–A De La Salle University (DLSU) student fell to his death from the 25th floor of a hotel in Mandaluyong City on Saturday night.
SPO1 Emmanuel Ermino of the Mandaluyong police identified the fatality as John Michael Lingad, 26, a graduating student from Quezon City. He was staying in a room at the Lancaster Hotel on Shaw Boulevard.
Ermino said that Lingad checked in by himself at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. At 11:10 p.m., the hotel staff heard a loud crashing sound and found a man lying face down on street in front of the establishment.
They found Lingad’s identification card inside a wallet beside the body, Ermino added.
Upon checking Lingad’s room, Ermino said the TV set was still on while the room’s bathroom window had been left open. The police found a half-empty bottle of liquor beside the hotel’s stationery pad, which had a message written on it and a photograph of a woman.
Ermino said the note read: “Feb. 14, 2014 I wish to go back to those times.”
