New reservoir to benefit Taguig barangays

/ 05:40 AM November 16, 2014

Manila Water and the Taguig City government recently inaugurated a 10-million-liter-capacity reservoir in Barangay Hagonoy that is expected to improve water distribution services in least seven barangays.

The now operational Capistrano Water System aims to ease the load of the pumping stations located in Fort Bonifacio and at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and should maintain high water pressure 24/7 in Barangays Bagong Tanyag, Bagumbayan, South Daang Hari, North Daang Hari, Central Bicutan, Lower Bicutan, and Upper Bicutan.

A 2.9-kilometer pipe was installed along East Service Taguig to Parañaque City, while a five-kilometer pipeline was laid along C-6 road and Gen. Santos Avenue.

“We are very glad to work with Manila Water toward the completion of this project. With the new water system, around 15,000 water service connections in the city will be improved,” Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said in a Nov. 13 statement.
