PNP buying 4×4 carriers for P398M
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police has approved the delivery of P397.95 million worth of 4×4 light personnel carriers which was won by two firms which entered into a joint venture.
A contract dated Nov. 7 was signed between the PNP and the joint venture of the Autocirculo Corp. and Columbian Autocar Corp. for the purchase of 210 units of 4×4 light personnel carriers.
The PNP initially approved a P476.4 million budget contract for the purchase, or P2.268 million per vehicle.
The joint venture, represented by a certain Augusto Camacho Jr., initially offered a bid worth P451.5 million but the supplier voluntarily reduced it to P397.95 million.
Deputy Dir. Gen. Felipe Rojas, PNP deputy chief for administration, signed a notice to proceed to the joint venture giving them the green light to deliver the vehicles.
Technical specifications for the vehicles include a diesel-powered engine and should seat at least 15 people.
