Fire hits warehouse in Valenzuela; no one hurt
MANILA, Philippines—A warehouse in Valenzuela City was engulfed early Friday by a pre-dawn fire that lasted for six hours.
The storage facility of Marswin Marketing Inc. along Pearl Island Phase II in Barangay (village) Punturin contained mostly paint supplies, making it difficult to put out the blaze, Superintendent Jose Mel Lagan, the Valenzuela City Fire Marshall, told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.
“The fire actually started at 3 a.m. but the incident reached our office around 6 a.m. Late na nakapagresponde,” Lagan said in a phone interview.
Around 7 a.m., authorities placed the fire under Task Force Alpha but was eventually declared under control at 9 a.m.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The cause of fire and the amount of damages have yet to be determined.
