The 2014 Governors’ Leadership Training Summit
ALFONSO, Cavite – Gathering over hundreds of participants across the country and building intact and sustainable rapport among attendees while instilling values and qualities of an ideal leader, this year’s Governors’ Leadership Training Summit (GOLTS) marked another prominent event in its pursuit of crossing more and more borders. GOLTS 2014 was held October 24-26 at the very scenic and sheltered Camp Benjamin, Alfonso, Cavite.
Themed “Turbulence: Building a Leader’s Success Amid Challenges”, GOLTS 2014 assembled over hundreds of participants who enthusiastically joined the 3-day Hunger Games-inspired training summit. The theme enabled participants to channel their inner Katniss and Peeta while they face different challenges and on-hand leadership drills.
Day 1
Participants were first engaged in a leadership talk delivered by the remarkable and inspiring Mr. Henry Tenedero.
This was followed by the afternoon session prepared to formally open the Hunger Games.

Article continues after this advertisementDay 2 officially marked the start of Hunger Games activities. Tributes were tasked to accomplish challenges in 12 stations to earn a puzzle piece which they need to assemble by the end of the activity.
There were also gold coins which were essential in determining their district’s ranking. Districts, however, needed to be equipped with proper gears and materials in order to defend themselves as they forward in the competition.
Once they acquired their equipment, the games officially begun.
The activities did not only make districts endure challenges, but it also instilled a sense of camaraderie among each of them while engaged in physical challenges, mind games, and other fun obstacles.
The day did not end without the most anticipated Solidarity Night where tributes had the opportunity to interact with their fellow tributes from different districts. This made the night even more fun as everyone participated in the costume party. This also showcased the creativity of every participant.
Day 3
Activities in the last day included the awarding ceremony where outstanding districts and tributes were recognized and a boodle fight-themed lunch.
Mr. Richard Lim Sy, the federation’s president, officially closed GOLTS 2014.
