ITCZ, northeast monsoon to bring rain and cold spell

MANILA, Philippines—Mindanao will be rainy while parts of northern Luzon will experience a cold spell on Wednesday as the Intertropical Convergence Zone and northeast monsoon (amihan) affect the two areas respectively.

In its weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) said that northern Mindanao, Caraga, central Visayas and the provinces of Leyte will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Pagasa added that the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and the Ilocos regions will be partly cloudy with isolated rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
