MANILA, Philippines—Police personnel in Sultan Kudarat nabbed three people accused in the killing of a police officer following a 2-day manhunt, an official said Tuesday.
Investigators of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Southern Mindanao, together with elements from the Highway Patrol Group arrested Sapal Guimilon, Diego Guimilon and Suidong Guimilon.
Police Director Benjamin B. Magalong said the suspects were arrested before the break of dawn on Tuesday at an abandoned house Barangay Ilian, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.
According to the CIDG, the three were the suspects in the killing of Senior Police Officer 4 Ruben Sabado, a member of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office, along the National Highway of Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat on November 2.
Police Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin, Chief CIDG- Public Information Office, said that during the operation, 14 stolen motorcycles, including Sabado’s own, were discovered in the safe house.
The three were tagged as the Guimilon Group, alleged guns-for-hire that dabble in car theft in Sultan Kudarat and nearby provinces.
