Did you know: Carlos P. Garcia birth anniversary

Today, Nov. 4, is the 118th birth anniversary of former President Carlos P. Garcia. Aside from being a public servant, Garcia was also a lawyer, teacher, poet and orator. As the eighth president of the country (1957-1961), Garcia was known for his administration’s “Filipino First” policy. He died in 1971 at age 75.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
