MANILA, Philippines–Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. arrived at the Sandiganbayan on Thursday for the continuation of the bail hearing for the actor-politician charged with plunder in connection with the P10-billion “pork” barrel scam.

Revilla was accompanied by his wife, Cavite Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, and his son, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla.

But the anti-graft court first division deferred morning’s hearing to this afternoon because the next witness, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) forensic expert Joey Narciso, failed to attend.

The prosecution said Narciso, who had just been hospitalized due to dengue, needed rest because he was also tired after joining an NBI operation Wednesday night.

Narciso requested that he attend the hearing instead in the afternoon, the prosecution said. The court granted Narciso’s request and deferred the hearing to Thursday afternoon.

Narciso is the prosecution’s last witness in the case against Revilla before the court submits the senator’s motion for bail for resolution.

Revilla, along with Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center.
