MANILA, Philippines—Senator Antonio Trillanes  IV  has withdrawn his motion to cite for contempt the  two executives of  Hilmarc’s Construction  Corporation after they finally showed up during  the last Senate hearing on the controversial Makati City Hall 2 parking  building.

The two were Engineer  Efren  Canlas  and Robert Henson, chairman and president of Hilmarc’s, respectively,  who  were recommended  to  be cited  for  contempt by Trillanes during the  hearing of the Senate  blue ribbon subcommittee last October  8  for repeatedly  snubbing its  proceedings.

“The 2 Hilmarc’s executives were  recommended to be  cited for  contempt for ignoring the subpoenas but their attendance last hearing effectively  remedied  that  situation,”  Trillanessaid in a text message  sent to reporters on Tuesday.

“Hence, the  contempt recommendation was withdrawn,”  he added.

Canlas and Henson attended the hearing last October 22.

Hilmarc’s was the  lone  contractor that bagged the  controversial  parking  building project, which is now  the subject of investigation  by the subcommittee.
