MANILA, Philippines—Some 40,000 high school students of Quezon City will dance in the streets early Sunday, Oct. 19, as part of celebrations marking the city’s 75th founding anniversary.
In “Indakan ng mga Estudyante sa QC,” students of different public high schools will march from Araneta Avenue to Amoranto Sports Complex to showcase their dancing talents starting as early as 6 a.m.
The street dance is a continuation of fun activities prepared by the Quezon City government for the yearlong celebration of its Diamond Jubilee. It can be another entry of the city for the Guinness World Record, said Tadeo Palma, secretary of Mayor Herbert Bautista.
Last Oct. 12, Quezon City attempted to break India’s record in the Zumba category. But because of the heavy rains, the city’s attempt will be moved to next summer.
