MANILA, Philippines–Operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 were temporarily halted for about an hour early Tuesday morning due to damaged rails.
With rails on the northbound lane from Santolan station to Ortigas station broken, only northbound trips from the initial North station to Cubao and southbound trips from North station to the last station (Taft Avenue), were operational, Renato San Jose, MRT officer-in-charge, said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM around 6 a.m.
Last Thursday, MRT operations were also disrupted due likewise to damaged rails on the southbound lane of Boni Avenue station.
Shortly after San Jose was interviewed around 7 a.m., train operations resumed. In MRT North Avenue station, passengers were again allowed to enter the station platform.
