MANILA, Philippines – The Senate investigation into the allegedly overpriced Makati City Hall 2 parking building resumed on Thursday sans Vice President Jejomar Binay and son, Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay.

The older Binay was invited by the Senate blue ribbon committee to attend this Thursday’s hearing while the mayor was among those subpoenaed by the committee.

The vice president was the city mayor when the allegedly anomalous construction of the building started in 2007. It was completed in 2013 under the leadership of his son. Both denied irregularities in the construction of the building.

Mayor Binay, in a press conference, said they would question the jurisdiction of the committee to investigate the matter.
