MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Jejomar Binay’s net worth for 2013 is P60 million, documents released by his camp showed.
In a televised press conference Wednesday, Binay’s camp presented the Vice President’s documents to prove that he files his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth and Income Tax Return every year and pays his taxes. His net income for 2013 is P83 million.
“Everything is accounted for. We have 100 percent accountability for VP Binay,” Binay’s spokesperson Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla said.
When he was elected as mayor of Makati City in 1988, Binay’s net worth was P2.5 million.
Some of Binay’s sources of income are his salary and his wife’s flower business. His cash at hand is P28.7 million and he has 12 real properties.
The press conference was halted for a few minutes after Atty. Princess Tugarno, Binay’s lawyer who was reading the documents, felt dizzy.
The SALN of Binay’s children will also be released in due time, Binay’s camp said.
