MANILA, Philippines – Despite the plunder accusations and public anger against Director General Alan Purisima, Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II still trusts the Philippine National Police chief and is confident in his leadership.

“General Purisima has my ‎trust and confident until otherwise proven by evidence. And all [pieces of] evidence [are] welcome for investigation,” Roxas told the media on Tuesday.

On Monday, Purisima was slapped anew with plunder and graft charges with indirect bribery over his alleged hidden properties in Nueva Ecija and the multimillion peso worth of the reconstruction of “White House” in Camp Crame.

Roxas meanwhile reiterated that all PNP members would have to undergo the lifestyle check following the recent spate of criminal activities involving policemen.

“I believe in leadership by example kaya kasama ang leadership ng PNP dito. Walang pwedeng lumusot sa lifestyle check,” he said.
