MANILA, Philippines—After heavy rains battered Metro Manila due to tropical storm “Mario,” a fire gutted a residential area in Pasig City on early Saturday, a radio report said.
At least 20 houses on Doroteo Street at Barangay (village) Santolan in Pasig City were engulfed by fire, the report said.
Forty families were affected by the fire and at least one was injured.
The fire reached second alarm before it was finally put out, the report said.
