WASHINGTON — Part of the White House has been evacuated after someone jumped the fence at the executive mansion.

The incident occurred Friday evening shortly after President Barack Obama and his daughters left aboard a helicopter for the presidential retreat in Maryland, Camp David. A Secret Service agent at the scene says someone jumped the fence surrounding the White House. Much of the West Wing was evacuated.

Last week, on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the Secret Service apprehended a man who jumped over the North Fence of the White House. Officers drew their firearms and used a service dog as they took the man in custody.
