MANILA, Philippines—As Tropical Storm “Mario” intensified the effects of the southwest monsoon flooding the streets of Metro Manila, SM Supermalls have offered free overnight parking services for those who had their communities severely flooded.

In its official Instagram account, the mall chain said that all overnight parking charges are waived for those who need the parking spaces.

“In times of calamities, our malls offer temporary respite and a meeting point for families who may be unable to get to their place of residence,” SM posted on Instagram Friday evening and which was linked to its other social media profiles.

“In the areas where severe flooding is experienced, we provide parking spaces for the residents.”
