MANILA, Philippines—With Tropical Storm “Mario” continuing to intensify the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau on the crack of Saturday raised the Red rainfall warning signal over Zambales and Tarlac.
In its 12 a.m. heavy rainfall advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that Zambales and Tarlac would experience severe flooding due to the heavy rains.
Nueva Ecija is the lone province under the effects of “Mario” with an Orange rainfall warning and that floods are threatening to happen in the province.
Pagasa added that Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Rizal and Cavite are under the Yellow Rainfall Warning.
At 12 a.m., Pagasa spotted the eye of “Mario” at 117 kilometers northwest of Laoag, Ilocos Norte with maximum winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusts of 90 kph.
