Coast Guard: 2,480 passengers stranded due to ‘Mario’
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Coast Guard said Friday that 2,480 passengers were stranded due to heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Mario” (international name: Fung-Wong)
According to its latest bulletin issued at 2 p.m, the Coast Guard said that the passengers were stranded in various ports in Manila, Batangas, Cebu, Western Visayas, and Bicol.
Various sea vessels were also not allowed to sail due to “Mario”: seven motor bancas, 252 rolling cargoes, and 15 boats.
The Coast Guard said that it would send four deployable response teams in typhoon-hit areas in Northern Luzon.
