Protesters throw Ukrainian politician into dumpster

MANILA, Philippines – A video of a Ukrainian member of parliament manhandled by protesters and dumped into a garbage bin has become viral online.

The video, which has been picked up by global news networks, showed Vitaly Zhuravsky forcibly escorted by two men before being thrown into a dumpster, head first.

Zhuravsky attempted to crawl out of the waste container but was pushed down by another protester who was holding his head. The group appeared to be be arguing with him, giving him their two cents before throwing a tire into the container and dousing him with liquid.

The politician is a member of the Economic Development Party and was a former adviser of ousted President Viktor Yanukovich.

Zhuravsky earned the ire of the public after authoring a controversial bill, which orders additional restrictions against anti-government protesters.
