LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Philippines—A caché of high-powered firearms and suspected illegal drugs were seized from a private farm in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, early Thursday.

A combined team from the Philippine National Police Special Weapons and Tactics and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) based in Camp Crame in Quezon City raided a farm estate owned by a certain George Fajardo in Barangay (village) Makabling in a police operation that began around 3 a.m.

In a phone interview, the CIDG spokesperson, Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin, said among those recovered were 11 shotguns, four high-powered guns, and a kilo of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

The operation was based on a search warrant issued by a Manila regional trial court judge and was under the directive of the Office of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, she said.
