TANOD’S SON FALLS IN DRUG BUY-BUST
A SON of a barangay tanod and his live-in partner were arrested by police in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City on Tuesday night.
Wendel Demape, 26, and Irene Bughaw, 19, allegedly sold a pack of shabu for P200 to a poseur buyer, said police.
In Cebu City, a daughter of a carenderia owner inside a police training center was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Apas.
Ma. Shiela Pascual was arrested after she handed over two packs of suspected shabu worth P200 to a drug agent, said PDEA-7.

MAN FOUND DEAD AT HOME
A 45-YEAR-OLD man was found dead yesterday inside his house in Basak San Nicolas, Pardo, Cebu City.
Wilson Teves Torrano was discovered lying lifeless on the floor of his room by his daughter Jhie Ann Torrano, 21.

TALISAY FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE
A FIRE razed a house in barangay Mohon, Talisay City, south Cebu, last Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 1:40 p.m. and was controlled after five minutes, said SFO1 Cesar Dela Cerna, Talisay City fire investigator.
The fire started in the Crosswind vehicle of a retired teacher Nelsa Talon, 70.
The flames spread and destroyed her newly renovated house in Valley View Subdivision.

5 FISHERS RELEASEd
A BARANGAY captain in Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu, complained that the town police released five suspected illegal fishers without filing charges against them.
The fishers were arrested last Sept. 17.
Malbago barangay captain Virgilio Misa said he was about to file charges on Monday when he was told by police investigator PO2 Alfred Mandal that a case was already filed.
Misa said he was surprised to learn later the five were released.
In a phone interview, Mandal said he asked Misa to go to the office to execute an affidavit but Misa didn’t show up until the 18-hour reglamentary elapsed, prompting police to release the fishermen. CORRESPONDENT CARMEL LOISE MATUS
