MANILA, Philippines — How can Senator  Nancy  Binay  prove that she had nothing to do with the cakes being given to senior citizens in  Makati City?

Binay said she was  faced  with this dilemma last week  when  someone approached  her while in a restaurant in Makati to thank her for the cake that this person had received.

E hindi naman talaga ako nag bake why would I claim credit for something  na hindi ko ginawa,” she said.

In the end, Binay said she just thanked that person but explained  that  she  did not bake  it.

The senator said  the cake issue has become  her problem  since allegations were made at the Senate  that she was into the business  with her father, Vice President Jejomar Binay, then city mayor.

“Pag lumalabas ako, parang gusto akong hingan ng cake. Wala akong ibibigay, mag aabono pa ako,” the senator lamented.
