MANILA, Philippines — One of the policemen linked to the robbery-abduction on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) surrendered to authorities early Wednesday to deny his involvement.

In a live radio and television interview at Camp Karingal in Quezon City, Police Senior Inspector Allan Emlano of the Caloocan City Police denied that he was among 10 policemen implicated in the incident in Mandaluyong City on September 1.
Emlano surrendered to officers of the Quezon City Police district to clear his name.

He admitted that he had been on absence without leave (Awol) since 2013 due to family problems. On September 1, a photo of armed men along Edsa, which turned out to be an abduction and robbery, went viral after a netizen shared the photo on social media.
